One of the best ways to receive feedback on your writing and get your
songs out there is to enter a free songwriting contest. There are many
different contests available on both the national and international
level. Some of them feature songs that are fully recorded and others
are for songs that only have lyrics written.

Here at Songs Revealed, I thought it would be a good idea to have a
contest that included both, so that it will include songwriters who have
recorded their work as well as writers who have the lyrics completed.
Since I deal with publishers on a daily basis as part of the
promotions that I do for Song Warrior Music, the main prize is going to
feature a chance for the winner to have their music seen and/or heard
by some of the top publishers in the music industry.

There is no charge to enter and you can send your lyrics and/or a
sound file (mp3, wma, etc.) for as many songs as you want. There is
no limit to the number of times you can enter, so feel free to send
them as often as you like. And the winners will be chosen based on
the following qualifications.

First, I will look at the actual writing itself, phrasing, and the overall
effectiveness of the lyrics. Then, the entires will be narrowed down
even further by the quality of the words chosen and how well they
work together. For the songs that have music as well as lyrics, I will
be focusing on the melody and chords to see how they compliment
the lyrics.

The songs that you enter must be original and written or
co-written by you. You can submit as many songs as you like and
your lyrics can be presented in an email or a Microsoft Word file.
